Tasting Notes
"Tyrrell's made its first Vat 47 in '71 and soon embraced barrel fermentation in French oak, to all intents and purposes the leader of the pack, playing the same role that Max Lake had played with cabernet in '65-'66, so it's hardly surprising Tyrrell's is a skilled practitioner. Still a vibrant youthful straw-green; white peach and nectarine drive the engine on this lovely chardonnay; barrel ferment oak inputs and slinky acidity adding to the texture. Many of its gold medals and trophies were collected in '16, reflecting the overall complexity and balance of the wine." James Halliday's Wine Companion
