The Granite Syrah comes from a single parcel of dry farmed bush vines that are around 23 years old. Whole clusters are put into 500L French oak barrels with gentle foot treading to release some juice before fermentation. The wine spends a total of 21 months in 500L French barrels, 25% new and a further nine months in bottle before release. The Granite Syrah is always the most perfumed and elegant of their three soil series wines. The wine has a floral spice and cranberries on the nose with concentration and a silky texture on the palate.
