Husband and wife team, Chris and Andrea Mullineux is behind Mullineux Wines. In 2007, Chris and Andrea established themselves in Swartland, at Roundstone Farm, long before the region gained its cult status. By 2020, the winery had received thirty 5-star ratings from Platter’s South African Wine Guide and has been awarded Winery of the Year four times in 2014, 2016, 2019 and 2020.
Mullineux makes wines grown on the three main soil types: shale/schist, granite and iron allowing the grapes to express the unique characteristics of each. The Swartland is naturally warm and dry during the summer, which allows for sustainable farming and their vineyards are wild with native flora. In the winery, they continue a hands off approach and ferment with indegenous yeasts and one addition of SO2 before fermentation only.
